Make-A-Wish Foundation
Make-A-Wish foundation is an advocate group that helps children with severe medical issues do something they want to before dieing. The first wish was made in 1980 by a 7 year old boy who was being treated for leukemia. Chris' wish was granted, though not long after he died. Now, after seeing how just one wish could help a child become happier, they created the Make-A-Wish foundation. The impact on society has been huge. The foundation has granted over 193,000 wishes since Chris Greicius died in 1980. Many children's wishes who have been granted are still alive and enjoying life. For many of them the wish granted provides strength for them and hope for the future.
