Assignment #1

I think that child abuse is a big issue in the world today! 5 myths about abusing are:

1. It's only abuse if it's violent...... My opnion on that is i disagree, people can be abused emotionally and neglect and that can hurt just as bad as being abused physically.

2. Only bad people abuse their children...... I agree anyway who has been abused by someone is considered bad in my opnion and don't deserve to be treated with respect from me.

3. Child abuse doesn't happen in " Good " families....... I can't really disagree or agree because what is a good family now a days?

4. Most child abusers are strangers..... I disagree because I know someone's dad who has abused her and it's really sad becuase he is the only one she could turn to in her family because her mom died when she was young and now she is scared of her dad because he hit her with a belt.

5. Abused children always grow up to be abusers......... I disagree because Im sure most kids who have been abused never wanna go back and realize how horrible it is to be abused so I don't think would want their kids to have to go through the same thing they have gone through.

Some people might have totally different opnions of these myths like for number 1 people might not even know that their are other types of abuse. For number 2 people might think that even role models abuse there children and it's true they do. For number 3 people might know what a good family is maybe they think they have a good family so they could relate, maybe they think their family is bad so they could realate. For number 4 people could have been abused by a stranger so they would most likely agree with the myth. For number 5 maybe a person was abused as a younger kid and finds herself abusing her kid once in awhile.
